Profile
Work History
White Webs, Bristol, England: March 2005 - Current
Established a sole trading business in early 2005 designing and developing websites.
Regular liaison with clients to identify the information architecture and bring forward potential ideas to identify the look and feel of a website making suggestions where appropriate. Prototype designs ultimately helped to visualise the website in the early stages and fine tune specific areas for later development.
XHTML is used to semantically structure each web page and is formatted according to structural meaning i.e. providing semantic value through the use of headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, and other structural elements.
The presentation layer is controlled using CSS layouts that are set in external style sheets. The style sheet controls the style and layout of multiple web pages all at once. Styles for each HTML element can be applied it to as many web pages as desired and global changes can be made by amending the class or id attributes.
Where behaviour is concerned the Document Object Model and the standardised version of JavaScript (EMCAScript) is applied in an unobtrusive manner that has been implemented to degrade successfully. This is to enable all visitors to experience multiple aspects of the website regardless of computer specification and browser capabilities.
Accessibility features have been extensively incorporated to adhere to the WAI Priority Levels. They have been strictly followed so that all visitors can use the web application. Testing across multiple browsers and different operating systems identifies the usability and highlights potential functional implications.
Art work, logos and animations have been designed and created using industry standard development tools.
